Pagent Queens

Ok, So maybe not yet. Or ever. Except when they're at home.

So, I haven't been fabulous about their grooming the last couple of weeks (was sick last week, and preoccupied this week), and I discovered an enormous loose mat on Jewel yesterday so I vowed to give them both a thorough brushing today.

It took me an hour.

They're reallyreally blowing their coats now, like regular shedding machines. The day after we vaccum there's already dust bunnies floating down the hall from their hair.

Here they are! Look at those beautiful coats!! The camera flash kinda mars the effect, but I had to rub my eyes at how fabulous they looked.

Today, the girls get pawdicures and we are switching from harnesses to collars. Willow has chewed through 2 of them.

Daddy went to San Francisco for Wednesday night and all of Thursday- the girls were all confused that I was home, but he wasn't- they kept looking at the door.
We survived.

Mom spoke to about 100 people on Wednesday about stress and had a great time. She could get used to that!!

Here are some sweepy pup pics...

Jewel's New Half Sisters and Brothers

We recently learned that Jewel's mom, Cricket, is a mother again. Jewel now has 3 new brothers and 2 sisters. As of last check, all are available, with one on tentative hold.

Pictures of the new litter.

Jewel And Willow Eat Corn Cobbs

Jewel and Willow love their corncobs...

The big news from the weekend is that the girls went swimming for the first time. We took them to Merrymore Park in Redmond. This is the biggest dog park I have ever seen. Within the park is a pond where dogs were having their balls thrown. Willow accidently stepped into the water, and immediately turned around and swam out. Jewel on the other hand, took her time, then jumped right in. She swam a lap in the little bay, then jumped out. She seemed to have had fun, but didn't go back in.

Sleepwalker

too cute for words...

Whatcha got there, Mom?

Throw the DANG BALL already!

I want UP Mom!

Willow the Waterdog who, as you know, drinks a LOT of water, besides "swimming" in her waterbowl, now just can't get enough during a 24 hour day...

Last night, or shall I say, in the wee hours of the morning, Willow was whining and pacing back and forth from our bedroom to the kitchen. Daddy was in and out of bed trying to get her to go back to sleep:

Ok,
A) Cold draft from his throwing back the covers and forgetting I'm in it
B) Bouncing out of bed rather than sneaking in and out and bouncing ME around
C) Thumping his feet down the hall instead of tip-toeing
D) Calling, talking, pleading with Willow in FULL voice rather than whispering

For an HOUR they were going back and forth like this (and me, FUMING and exhausted saying leave her alone, we suspect she's in heat and the hormones make her moody and restless)

When he realized she was wanting something up on the counter, Ian finally went out there and realized that Willow wanted FRESH water out of the Brita filter, not the remnants of water with floaters, which is on the counter.
He cleaned her dish and refilled it, she drank for several minutes, shut up, and went to bed.

Who'd have thought...
